PRODUCING AGRICULTURAL CROPS SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

Agricultural crops can be produced organically for safe consumption of people. This can be done by adding organic manure to soil in order to enhance its fertility. This write – up is basically for crop growing farmers to practice a safe Agricultural Production using organic manure.
 Organic manures are residue of decayed plant and animal matters which when applied to the soil, it releases NUTRIENTS in the soil.
                           Importance Of Organic Manure To Agriculture
1.       It helps to improve soil structure
2.       It increases water holding capacity
3.       It regulates soil temperature
4.       It maintains soil aeration
There are three types of organic manure which are;
Compost manure
Farmyard manure
Green manure
 When crops are organically planted, it gives a different taste i.e. the original taste of a food crop is gotten from the crop planted organically. Any crop that is planted without inorganic fertilizer tends to have high quality and quantity. Also, organically planted crops are free from TOXINS which are detriment to human health. To reduce spread of diseases through food consumption, Agriculture has to go back to the source by producing crops organically in order to ensure safe and sound health of the people via food consumption.
