PESTS OF CROPS

This is a small winged insect with the body dusted and with a white powdery wax. It attacks cassava plants and transmits the Cassava Mosaic Virus which results in the moulting, yellowing of leaves, distortion of leaflets e.t.c. This insect also  transmit viral diseases to Okra, Cotton e.t.c.
                                        Control And Preventive Measure
 Spray with insecticidal soap twice or three times
Use of white fly traps
It can be biologically controlled by using Spider and Ladybug
                                 Economic Importance of White-fly
Leads to reduction in quantity and quality of farm yield
It increases the cost of production
It leads to loss on the part of the farmer

 other pests of crops include, Aphids, Beetle, Grasshopper, Stem borers e.t.c
